Good Sunday evening, gang. The weather over the next week and change is about to take a big walk on the wild side. We have a major Ohio Valley storm that will bring a lot of different weather to the bluegrass state in the coming week. That’s likely to be followed up by an arctic front, with another storm system behind that.

I don’t have any changes to my current thoughts on how this storm works out for us. Wednesday should bring heavy rain, thunder, VERY high winds, crashing temps and snow. All of that is likely wrapped up in just a few hours time span for some areas.

This is a HUGE storm that takes up a lot of real estate…

Euro 3

That is just an impressive sight to see and will be a headline making event for millions of people. The winds with that could be off the charts and cause all kinds of issues.

The new run of the European Model shows some decent wraparound snows for us as the storm lifts into Ohio…

Euro 2

With that look, accumulating snows will be possible Wednesday night and Thursday. Could be a little or more than a little… It’s still too early to tell.

Regardless, this is going to be a very high impact system for Kentucky.

It will be followed up by a arctic front to star next weekend…

Euro 4

That’s some wicked cold moving into the Great Lakes and northeast. Since the core of the bitter stuff stays to our north, it could allow for another storm to develop and work across the Tennessee Valley about a week from now.

Several of the individual members that make up the GFS Ensembles from WeatherBELL show the potential…

I’ll see you tonight for the full update. I leave you with your evening rain tracking toys…

Take care.
