Hello everyone. It’s a busy weather day out there on this Sunday and we have a lot to talk about. Let’s get right into it by beggining with the chance of severe thunderstorms across the region today.
Scattered thunderstorms will develop as this Sunday wears on… some of those could be severe. The SPC has much of the state in a slight risk…
A cold front will approach the region over the next few days with an increasing threat for boomers.
Monday Severe Threat
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible once again Tuesday as we get set for a fairly decent cooldown for the middle and end of the week.
Here’s Dolly! Tropical Storm Dolly formed this morning in the Caribbean. Here is a look at our newest storm…

If this storm survives the Yucatan… it will get into the Gulf of Mexico in a few days. From there… the models are suggesting this may get to Hurrican strength and threaten Texas.
We still have Tropical Storm Cristobal sitting off the North Carolina coast. This is one ragged looking storm that will start to pull away from the coast in the next day or so. Here is a look at our storm…
So… we now have 3 named storms roaming the Atlantic basin. Bertha will soon go bye bye but the view of the African coast suggests another storm or two should be firing up this week. The tropics are alive and ahead of schedule my friends! ![]()
I will watch the storm threat here locally and will post when I get the time. It’s a busy day for your friendly weather dude!
Take care.
