Good evening, everyone. We have a small taste of winter weather on the way from late tonight through Thursday night. This could bring a little slushy snow to parts of central and eastern Kentucky.

The models continue to “hot spot” parts of the region for some wet snow. That shows up well on the NAM…

Air and ground temps will be above freezing, so most of that snow will be melting. It can, at times, snow harder than it can melt, leading to some slushy accumulations.

Spring really shows up well early next week as a ridge of high pressure develops along the east coast. That happens as a trough deepens in the plains states. This setup can lead to round of big storms in between. The GFS keeps spitting out some hefty rainfall numbers…

I’ll have a fresh update for you later tonight. Enjoy the rest of your evening and take care.
