Good Monday to one and all and thanks for making the transition to the new weather blog. It’s a work in progress so bare with me over the next few weeks as I get it cleaned up a bit and add some new features to the sidebar. I plan on putting some live web cams and radars on there for you to use. I should also be adding some more cool weather links and will even get some videos on here for you. I am basically going to supercharge the “old” blog.
One thing I can guarantee is that this blog will have the same feel as the old one. I want this to continue to be THE best online weather community around. I hope all of you will continue to do what we started several years ago… talk weather and have some fun!
Did I say talk weather? Why yes I did… so let’s do just that.
Our Monday looks like it will be warmer and more humid than the past several days. Highs later today will reach the mid to high 80s in most areas. We should also see better coverage on the showers and thunderstorms… though they will still be scattered. A few could be strong or severe with torrential rains.
Tuesday will see an even greater shot at some boomers with temps back into the high 80s. A cold front will approach the region on Wednesday and it looks like it wants to check up across the state. This should mean rain and storms will be widespread Wednesday and some of that stuff may stick around Thursday and Friday. It’s a setup that can produce some very heavy rainfall totals around here and we will have to watch for the potential for flash flooding. The models are increasingly spitting out more rainfall during this period. Check out the GFS 60 hour totals from Wednesday through Friday…
Beyond that… a very warm and humid pattern appears to be in the making for next weekend into the following week. As has been the case each time the heat tries to move in here… we will need to watch for a trough digging in across the lakes and Ohio Valley to cut the heat off at the pass and keep it from getting a strong hold on the area.
Tropical Storm Bertha continues to slowly strengthen out in the Atlantic. Here is the latest track forecast from the National Hurricane Center…
Not the best time for a trip to Bermuda! The east coast folks will have to be on guard as well to see how close ol’ Bertha can get in about a week or so.
Thanks again for checking out the new blog. I will be updating this site just like with the old one and may even do so more frequently right now since I have a little time on my hands.
Take care.

Chris, this is great! Love the new blog and what you have planned for it during the coming days! Can’t wait to see everything that you have planned. It sounds awesome. Best of luck to you and your family in your new life!
And, do I dare keep the “tradition” alive by saying – “I’m first!” LOL!! Just had to do that!
Take care, everyone!
The transition has been made here in Georgetown too. Thanks for the continued dedication to us weather junkies out there.
Good morning Chris and all.Chris you as usual are on top of your game already a monday post wow!!!!! I am looking forward to all the things the blog will offer.I wonder if Bertha will impact our weather with rain? I feel a humid week coming on.I am already looking forward to winter lol!!!!!!! As you always say take care!!!!!!!!!!
Ugh! Heat and humidity! I hate it. I’m too old to put up with it at my work. No air for me. I’m counting down to fall!
Looks nice Chris keep up the good work
Thanks Chris for the update…Bertha is now a hurricane…we’ll see what happens to her.
Cat, I like to see our “traditions” still in place. 🙂
I am very interested in what Bertha is going to do. I have a condo in Stuart, Florida that was very heavily hit by Hurricane Jeanne and Francis back several years ago. Our unit was not hurt that badly but first floor units were destroyed as well as our pool and grounds.
Everyone have a good day and try to stay dry.
Chris this site is wonderful. We are looking forward to the information that you will have on here. Thanks!!!
Any thoughts about the storm cluster in southern IN sliding into KY this morning. The kid is heading to camp Crestwood just outside of Louisville.
Chris,
Keep up the great work. The new blog site rocks. Thanks for all the great info and insight into KY weather.
Hey Chris. I like the new blog! I’m so glad that you are keeping it going. You are the best!
Super site Chris! I really like the new look and all the new things you have planned. Looks like Louisville is getting hit at this time. I sure hope it doesn’t get to hot over the weekend and into next week. We are on our way Sevierville on Friday and will be there a week. I don’t do well in humidity and there are several outside things I want to do. I guess the pool will get a workout for sure.
Glad to see everyone is making the transition to the new site. I’ll check back this evening.
