Good Sunday, everyone. Today’s the day we spring forward and gain an hour of daylight, but lose an hour of sleep. For us weather folks, it also means the overnight model runs come in even later. Grr! Spring weather has been running wild for the past week, but changes show up later in the coming week.
Between now and those changes arriving, it’s pretty much more of the same. Our early season version of muggy air will help spawn additional showers and thunderstorms out there today. This action can dump heavy rains across central and western Kentucky, and that could cause some local high water issues.
Track away…
Low pressure works across the region on Monday with additional showers and a few thunderstorms. The NAM rainfall forecast through Monday…
After that system moves through, we turn our attention toward a stronger front arriving by the middle of the week. That brings some much colder air our way, but it is likely to produce a major surge in temps ahead of it on Tuesday. Check out the numbers…
With enough sunshine, we could flirt with record highs… Again.
Chilly air then invades the region by the end of the week…
A storm system is going to follow that up sometime next weekend. That setup has more of a winter look as it unleashes much colder air…
Enjoy your Sunday and take care.
The past few hours we have had some heavy rain in northwest Fayette. I had forgotten all about the clocks, so I just went and changed the ones that don’t auto do it. Thanks!
CB, there will be great disappointment if you do not title a day this coming September with “Falling into changes”. 🙂
I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much precipitation come across the city on radar and yield so little on the ground as a result. Not complaining, mind you, just shocked that we could get so little rain out of that whole system. I hope everyone else was as fortunate but likely they weren’t in the west.
Happy anniversary to the great infamous “93 Blizzard.” I figured I would mention this East Coast beast that rocked the deep south all the way to Maine since I have argued with so many people over the years that the storm occurred in March and not April. I have even argued with one guy a few years ago that was trying to tell me it occurred in May.
So we are not getting any rain in SE KY as of late. I only have recorded .29 for the entire week at the house and .79 for the month.
Winter not lasting much longer. Blooming dogwoods do not magically cause it.
Most of the rain in the past few weeks has been much weaker than expected for Richmond. Just enough to keep the ground kind of soggy.
