Good Evening gang. Another round of severe storms is firing up across the state with the primary focus on central and southern Kentucky. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out until Midnight eastern time. Here is the watch outline and the latest warnings…
These storms are likely to be similar to the ones from earlier today as they should contain damaging winds as they dive toward the south and southeast. Torrential rains may also produce localy flash flooding.
Follow the storms here…
I will have updates as needed and will send out quick thoughts and warnings via twitter. Follow me here: Kentuckyweather or follow along in the twitter feed on the right side of the blog.

My Jeep is topless today. I escaped the storms this morning inside a parking garage, but looks like I started gloating too soon. Radar has lit back up like a Christmas tree. LOL. Time to get out the tarp..
Thunder, lightning and welcome rain here.
Just got power back at home. After 11 and a half hours. @^*@^*%@((KU
Hello! Just a couple of things – one, anyone reading from the Gardenside area of Lexington? If so, it is a very strange looking “yellow” outside? It looks so strange here! A yellow glow all about. Very strange.
Too, we FINALLY got some much needed rain this morning! Woo Hoo! We have missed out on so many of the localized storms here of late. But not this morning! Honest, all three of my rain gauges recorded the same amount – 3 1/4 inches!! We must have been in a localized heavy rain area because that far exceeds the official totals. It was great for our plans – we needed it!
I hope someone can help explain the odd look outside our window! Thanks so much!
Blessings to all!
The rain is went all around my poor brown crispy yard yet again!! And now it teasing me again with thunder to my west but radar shows storms headed south away from me 🙁
All time record temperature set today in Little Rock, Arkansas at 114 degrees. Fort Smith hit 115 degrees also an all-time record. WOW!
