Good Saturday, folks. While we are steaming up our temps across the region this weekend, my focus is more on the potential for heavy rains developing for the week ahead. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to kick back in early in the week and continue for several days.
Highs today should hit 90 for the first time across our region. This has been on our radar for more than a week now, so enjoy sweating. 🙂
There’s a chance for isolated showers and storms on Sunday as a weak front drops in. This front will knock temps down a few degrees across the central and east.
Early next week is when we start to see scattered storms start to ramp back up. As an upper level low slowly works in from the northwest, the storms should increase in coverage and intensity…

Those rainfall maps look like liquid gold for my back yard!
I believe mid 90’s will be common on mesonet this afternoon.
Currently 93 in Nashville TN, but the dew point is a relatively comfortable 60. This low humidity is allowing us to still use our whole house fan while keeping the ac off, at least for now.
Looking forward to the upcoming rain (hopefully without too many flooding issues), as Nashville is nearly seven inches below normal.
Dew points are currently as high as the low 70s in some areas of eastern Kansas, Oklahoma, western Missouri. So a more “humid” heat is on its way.
Anything over 80 degrees and my A/C is on lol
