Good Sunday to one and all. The overall setup for the week ahead continues to look steamy and stormy. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are on the way, and we may get a few to crank out there today. That’s as a weak cold front dives in from the north and northeast.
This backdoor front shows up dramatically on the dewpoint map…
That’s rather amazing to see and illustrates this backdoor front potential we’ve talked about for days now.
Any storm that goes up along and ahead of this front will show up on your tracking toys…
Temps and humidity levels come down a bit for Monday with a small storm chance. That doesn’t last too long as the numbers shoot back up for Tuesday. That should lead to some scattered boomers around.
This is when we watch an upper level system across the plains states slowly working into our region. Exactly where this moves and how slow it goes, is the determining factor on how much rain can fall. Many of the models bring this system right on top of us later in the week…
Rainfall totals from that same model run…
HaveĀ a great Sunday and take care.
Thank you CB. You’re the best.
Thanks Chris. Summer is here! Appreciate all you do. Now let’s go and sing with my daughters at church! Have a great Sunday!
The dew point vs humidity ratings for the weather Sat and today are interesting to look at state wide.
65-gallon rain barrel runneth over…thanks to a frog strangler here in Valley Station – 0.80″ in about 45 minutes. Just southwest of me was a reading of 1.18″.
