Good Sunday everyone. We are set to close out the weekend with more of the same… hot humid temps with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The thunderstorms on Saturday turned out to just skirt our northern and northeastern counties. That should not be the case today into early in the new week.

The atmosphere continues to be juiced up with a ton of moisture available for any storm that blows up. This means torrential rains will be a good bet for areas getting in on storms over the next few days and this will likely cause local flooding concerns. In addition to the heavy rain threat… any one storm may briefly go severe and that’s something we will be watching for.

Temps outside of storms today will be 90ish with it feeling even hotter than that. Our temps are still expected to scale back several degrees for Monday and Tuesday before the hot weather makes another run at us by the middle and end of the week. It does not look to be as intense as what we just had… but plenty hot enough.

The plan for a cooler pattern as we head into August is still on. Mother nature will have the final say on things… but the forecast models are showing a milder signal. The numbers from the GFS Ensembles support this…

The first image shows the higher than normal temps from later this coming week into next weekend. Contrast that with the other shot from the same model for the following week. You can see how things look much more tame.

Guess what time it is? Yep… time to give you another dose of storm and temp tracking reality…
