Good late evening. I wanted to drop by for a quickie update on what I will be touching on with the full update later tonight. Here ya go…
– Late Thursday system delivers a glancing blow of light snow for some.
– Storm moving in late Friday into Saturday has some question marks with it. GFS continues to run colder than other models and shows some ice possible…
– Other models have only a brief mix to rain. It’s never a good sign when the GFS is alone.
– Next week looking anything but warm as models continue to swing troughs through here. European Model for early in the week…
– Best sign yet in getting a more sustained winter pattern? How about a deep snowpack engulfing areas just to our north this week…
– The brutal air across Canada and the northern tier of the country is starting to take control of the pattern. Let’s see what that means for us in the coming weeks.

good late evening from the town of wayne, wva. currently 27 degrees after a high today of 40 at midnight with our low still pending until midnight tonight since temps have been dropping all day. as chris asked, what does all that cold air mean for us in the coming weeks? i think he knows, he just is not going out on a limb, but i personally think it means bad news for spring weather lovers. watch out for a fabulous feb. for much of the eastern part of the nation and a wild march into april. as i have said before, snow on easter anyone? heck what about mothers day? don’t laugh til it gets here.
this will be a case opposite of last winter. last season was front end loaded, this season, back end loaded. folks winter, i’m afraid is just starting to get started and it may run its welcome before all is said and done.

I’m making prediction of 60’s this weekend, I think winter is just about over for this year.
Yup guys, lets just continue to give up on winter. Lets do that. I mean cause there is still a ton of cold air left in Canada and winter has extended into April before, so lets just give up. Great idea, eh? Nope. Winter is far from over. Don’t let yourself think that its over, cause it’s not.
