Good Friday evening and welcome to the weekend. It’s a dreary day that’s wrapping up, so I thought I would take a little look into next week. This appears to be one of the few times this winter that we are actually seeing some decent potential for snow.
The pattern for the first half of the week is for a mild look with temps warming back into the 50s. Mid week rain is likely to set us up for a big, slow-moving dip in the jet stream for late in the week into next weekend. It’s not just the models that are honing in on this. The indices are also favorable for a big winter storm to develop across the eastern half of the country.
We will have to see what impact such a storm would have on our region… but I do belive this is a pattern ripe for a big system.
The Canadian Model Friday…
European Model for Friday
This is the type of pattern you need to get a big snow out of an otherwise stinky pattern. Will that include Kentucky? Only time will tell.
Have a great evening and take care.
woohooo
As always I’ll be checking in several times a day.
Thanks Chris. Hope we get a good one. Mother Nature, please Old Man Winter out for the month of Feb. Not nice keeping him locked up like that. You can take him back in March 😉
Come on man, It sounds like wishful thinking, but I guess it’s a better way to think than what has been reality
someone will get a big storm but with the winter we seen so far it wont be us bit chris i love the blog its just not exciting this winter…..
Could it be??
If nothing else it’s at least something worth watching!
afraid to hope for snow.
I wonder if someone will make another “Downfall” parody about the 2011-2012 winter in Kentucky, lol. 😀
I’m glad to see you get your rest Chris. There hasn’t been much weather talk or at least snow talk to blog about this winter. You have to take advantage of the breaks when they come!
