Good Wednesday everyone. A taste of winter weather is moving across the bluegrass state today and it will be a reminder that the calendar actually does say February. This isn’t a big deal, but it does give cold and snow lovers a little something to smile about. Stress the little.

This will be a quick-moving system today and will bring some rain and snow mix to the south with a swath of light snow across the northern half of the state. The flakes will have to fight a mild ground and air temps hanging just above the freezing mark, so accumulation will be fairly light. Anything that does stick should be confined to elevated and grassy surfaces and me more slushy than anything.

The light snow will taper off to flurries from west to east this afternoon and evening from west to east. Temps will stay in the 30s for most areas, but a gusty wind will make it feel even colder. Be sure to hit the tracking tools at the top of the page. Radars, current conditions and live cams are there all the time.

A seasonal chill will be with us for Thursday and Friday. This is ahead of an arctic front that will dive in from the northwest Friday night. This should have a swath of light rain and snow just ahead of it with light snow and snow showers behind it. You can see the NAM is getting a bit aggressive with the moisture…

We’ll keep an eye on that to see if it can bring some accumulating snow our way. It has a decent chance, right now.

Temps behind the front will be cold. Highs on Saturday may stay in the 20s for many areas. GFS high temps…

Lows should dip well into the teens by Sunday Morning.

Be sure to post the weather conditions from where you live and I will drop by for an update later. Have a great Wednesday and take care.
