Good Wednesday afternoon. It’s been a wild weather day across Kentucky and the severe weather threat will continue into the evening hours. A TORNADO WATCH is now out for much of central and eastern Kentucky until 9pm.

CB….when will the front move through Lex? Until that time can we expect there is indeed still a chance more will develop? Is that correct? Not sure how severe though but it is still very warm. WW

Storms blowing up west of nashville tn now.
Also, watch out somerset ky, tornado warning for pulaski county.
Still tornadic storms between ashland and pikeville ky, an area not all that use to tornadoes. Will be interesting to see if nws jackson ky and nws charleston wv do any storm surveys in those areas.

Took out a trucking company (and trapped employees) and a mobile home park…
It is bad here going to basement.
…and in the middle of it all, police called our school and told them to lock down, that a man had been sighted down the street with a gun. Turned out to be an umbrella strapped to his back. :/
I guess everyone is on edge after the latest shooting at a school.
There was a lockdown for a little while in Frankfort today. We never heard of a lockdown when I was in school. Glad to know everyone is okay.

I have cousins near Sportsman’s Lake in E-Town and heard there was damage there….not getting a cell signal all day, so wondered if you knew anything? (News outlets are not saying much beyond the more major damage @ the trucking co. & such…?!)
I would not be surprised to see moderate risk on Friday. The conditions look phenomenal. Wind shear, temps, dewpoints, instability all look high. Even though I would like that outbreak, I hope it doesn’t afflict more damage on the areas already damaged. hope everyone who was hit today is safe. Praying for you guys.
Report of tornadic storm heading in general direction of Harlan, KY.
My hunch is that the storm will become less tornadic, as storm is over rising and rugged terrain. Still very prudent to take shelter anyway. Just because southeastern KY has had very few twisters over the last century or so doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Not even Black Mountain can stop a twister that does form.
