Good Friday to one and all and thanks for dropping by the blog. Thursday provided the bluegrass state with a soaking rain with some areas picking up more than 3″ of rain. This rain is now long gone as cooler and drier air has taken over and dry air hangs around through the weekend. Our temps are going to warm up and that’s a sign of things to come.

Our short-term weather features mostly sunny skies out there today with temps not too far from 50 degrees. Tonight’s a cold one as temps hit the 20s.

Saturday and Sunday will see afternoon readings begin to climb the temperature ladder. Highs Saturday hit the low and mid 50s with 60s on the menu for Sunday.

Clouds and showers and thunderstorms will increase by Monday and Tuesday and a couple of the storms may be on the strong side and produce locally heavy rains. Temps will continue to warm and will reach the 70s by the middle of the week…

Once those 70s get into town… they may be in no big hurry to leave us. It looks to be full steam ahead into a much warmer period for the middle and end of March.

I have been showing you the warm signal coming from the GFS Ensembles of late. Now check out the European Ensembles that have that same warm look for the 6-10 day period…

That is a heck of a warm look for most of the country and you won’t hear me complaining about it. Let’s get to spring and get those temps cranking!

Have a great Friday and take care.
