Good Wednesday everyone and welcome to a warm and stormy day. We have a cold front moving across the state later today and this will likely spawn a line of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may end up being strong or severe with damaging winds and large hail the main threat.

Temps ahead of the front will soar well into the 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind. The line of storms will be working from northwest to southeast this afternoon into the evening. The action will be fairly fast-moving and will be out of the state by late evening into the wee hours of Thursday. Cooler air will then move in for Thursday as the sunshine returns.

I am on the road today traveling to New Orleans for the Final Four. I will be doing live weather from the Big Easy Starting Thursday as our WKYT Big Blue Crew cranks out extensive coverage of all things Kentucky. Me on Bourbon Street… uh oh. 😉

It’s likely I won’t be able to update the blog today as normal unless I can hit a wi-fi spot along the way. I will be burning up twitter with updates and information on watches and warnings. I will also be sending out updates and pics on our way to New Orleans.

Here is all you need to track today’s storms…
