Good Friday everyone and welcome to the end of the week. We are about to end things on a rather stormy note as another surge of summer temps moves back in. Some of the storms today may be on the strong side.
A cold front will swing in from the northwest this afternoon and evening. Temps ahead of this front will head well into the 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind.
A few rounds of showers and thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the front and there is the risk that some of these storms could go severe. Damaging winds and large hail look to be the main threats.
Here’s your Friday dose of severe weather tracking tools…
I am away at the Final Four and will try to update if I can. I will be using twitter to send out quick updates and information on any watches or warnings that come out.
Have a great Friday and take care.
I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time we’ve seen a 5% tornado threat area from SPC since the deadly outbreak early in the month. I’d be paying close attention in northern KY today if it were I.
Agreed. I think they’re being a little conservatiVe on the threat risk. Needs to be further south.
You are at the final four?!?! Is that a perk of being the weather dude for lexington? That is so cool. I’m proud of you making the move there. I enjoyed you at WSAZ and am excited for the opprutunities in Lexington!
Chris, you lucky dog! I so wish I could be at the final four! 🙂
It’s thundering here (Hazard). I hope it doesn’t go severe.
Chris, you have to yell loud for our CATS tomorrow. We will be yelling from home, but they will hear you better! Watching the radar. Looks like northern KY is in line for some storms right about now. By the way, how is the weather down in NOLA? They can listen, but they CANNOT have our favorite weather man! 😉
