Good Thursday everyone and thanks for dropping by the center. I have a simple question to ask… Are you ready for some warm temps? We have had some UGLY and chilly weather of late and mother nature owes us some warm temps and nice conditions. That payback begins today. ![]()
While today will still have a few issues for us to overcome.. temps will make a nice rebound into the middle 60s for the east and low to mid 70s in the west. Follow along here…
Current Temps
We will see a mix of sun and clouds around and I still can’t rule out a scattered shower or two. Regional radar will show whatever action is out there…
The warm air really fights in by Friday with all areas hitting the 70s for the first time in a long time. An isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible.
The weekend continues to look VERY warm as highs reach the 80s. Check out the high temps here on the GFS…
A front across the plains will come close enough to western Kentucky for a shower or thunderstorm. Humidity levels will increase around here during this time and the overall warm and rather humid pattern should persist into much of next week.
The European Model…
That has a very warm look to it and a look that also suggest we turn rather stormy. Severe weather will kick back into high gear next week from the plains states into the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes. This is also likely to produce more very wet weather for these regions.
Every time it warms… ![]()
Have a great Thursday and take care.

Don’t really want severe weather, but I am sure ready for some of the warmth! Bring it on! (But tell the humidity to stay away….we really deserve a nice few days of spring weather before summer arrives.) How is the weather looking to our north over the weekend,m Chris? Headed to northern OH tomorrow, and wondering how to pack… 😉 (I’ll just put in a little of everything, and that should cover it! ) 😉
Bad news: Rain will be around for the next 6 or 7 days. Good news: It appears that it might finally be swept away and go into a dry period over the Memorial Day weekend. 🙂 I sure hope so.
The sun is out! The sun is out! Hooray!
This year so far reminds me SO much of Spring 1997 as far as clouds/rain/cool temps clear up until June that year…….Later that same winter (cough) Feb 1998………We actually had NO snow (that I can remember 1997/98 OTHER than that huge snow….And that was a major snowstorm/whiteout/blizzard..
I have no idea how you guys remember spring, summer, winter, fall from years ago. I can’t remember what happened last spring much less from ’97. I am a weather geek maybe not as much as some but you guys amaze me at your memory. Impressive
Agree–but 1997 had fewer warm days. Only 2 of 80 or greater through 1 June in Lexington. We have had more warm weather this year compared to 1997
