Good Wednesday everyone. This has been one heck of a chilly and wet pattern over the past several days and it has one more day of life left.  Once we get through today… a much warmer pattern is ready to take over for a while. In typical spring of 2011 fashion… the pattern is likely to turn stormy again.

Before we get to the warm stuff… let’s talk about the ugly stuff we have out there today. Low pressure continues to move SLOWLY across the mid atlantic states. It is still throwing back some showers into the region with the greatest concentration being across the east. Follow the action here…

Highs today will range from the 60s in the west to the low and mid 50s for the east.

Thursday will see the milder air from the west begin to move in. Temps will return to the 60s for everyone with a 70 in the west. There could still be a scattered shower or two.

Friday looks great right now as the 70s and partly sunny skies take over. From there… it is full steam ahead into a warm weekend as highs are likely to reach the low and mid 80s.

As we mentioned early on… the threat for some scattered storms will return later this weekend and will likely become a little more common into next week. Our May forecast talked about a possible return of a hyper active severe weather pattern during the second half of the month. That appears to be a good possibility from the plains states east and it may get started next week.

The European Model certainly has the severe weather look to it…

With an increase in thunderstorms will come an increase in the threat for more heavy rains. That is certainly something we do NOT want, but has been the calling card of the spring. The GFS for the next few weeks is showing the rain train leaving the station again…

Enough of the negative talk… the 80s are coming… the 80s are coming. Spread the word and have a great Wednesday.

Take care.
