Good Thursday everyone. We are warming things up in a big way out there today and this warm air hangs tough into Friday. That’s when we start to watch for changes showing up this weekend into early next week. These changes mean some ugly weather will set up for a couple of days for much of the eastern part of the country.

Today’s weather is nothing short of awesome. Sunny skies and temps in the 70s will combine to make for a picture perfect spring day in Kentucky. It doesn’t get much better than this!

Friday will see readings back into the 70s with a little more clouds rolling into town. These clouds will eventually produce some scattered showers and storms by the end of the day. These boomers are ahead of a cold front that will move through here early Saturday with more in the way of scattered storms. Here’s how the GFS sees it…

The models are taking on a little different look compared to a few days ago. We are seeing the models keeping things a bit more progressive over the weekend. That means our sky condition may be a little better for Sunday and Monday. The big storm across the east is being forecast to set up a little farther to the east. The GFS Monday Morning…

That should still leave the door open to a system diving in from the northwest that may produce a chilly shower or two. The European Ensembles is still fairly robust with this east coast storm…

Regardless… temps are going to come way down and any night that sees clear skies would result in temps near the freezing mark again.

The cold air will be in and out pretty quickly and temps may be back in the 80s by the middle and end of next week.

Have a great Thursday and take care.
