Good Saturday everyone. We have been harping on big chill down for around a week now and that shot of chill is here. Temps over the next several days are going to run way below normal as the overall pattern takes on a bit of a wintry look. That look may not go away without a fight later next week. More on that in a bit.

Today will find showers across much of central and eastern Kentucky this morning. These showers will slowly taper off from west to east this afternoon and that may mean some sunshine for many. This is especially true for western and central parts of the commonwealth. Temps will not move very much at all and should be in the low and mid 50s for highs. Gusty winds will add an extra chill to the air.

Sunday looks to feature a mix of sun and clouds with the threat for a shower or two with a weak system diving in from the northwest. This happens as a big storm works up the east coast…

That may bring some big snows to the northern Appalachian Mountains and into parts of the northeast. It just means the chilly air continues to funnel in here through early next week. Highs Sunday should be in the upper 50s and low 60s and will drop into the low and mid 50s on Monday. Overnight lows will make a run at the freezing mark by Monday and Tuesday mornings.

Warmer air is going to fight back in here by the middle of the week and that may fire up a shower or storm. The end of the week pattern may feature one heck of a temperature gradient across the Ohio Valley and that could mean rounds of storms around here…

That will be something to keep an eye on as it could mean a severe weather and heavy rain threat.

Enjoy your Saturday and have a great day.
