Good Thursday everyone. Wow is all I can say about the severe weather pattern of this spring. We are coming off a heart breaking severe weather day across much of the Tennessee Valley into the south as deadly tornadoes pounded many areas. The tornado outbreak of Wednesday will go down as one of the worst in the history of this country.

We escaped this outbreak with only a glancing blow and no one is going to complain about that. If you wanna see just how powerful these storms to our south were… take a look at this amazing video out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

That is some of the most amazing tornado video you will ever see. I can only imagine what the light of day will bring to folks across the hardest hit areas. My fear is the death toll will hit triple digits.

Believe it or not… we have the threat for one more round of showers and storms today as a weak disturbance dives in from the northwest. There is a small chance these storms go strong or severe with high winds and hail being possible. You can track the storms here…

Winds will be rather gusty today and temps will be much cooler as we stay in the 60s.

What happens after today?

– Friday will see clearing skies from west to east as some milder air begins to work back in.

– The weekend will start out very nice with temps well into the 70s for Saturday with partly sunny skies.

– A cold front moves our way on Sunday and will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms with it… especially the second half of the day. Temps should continue to be warm.

– This front will slowly work through into Monday with another round or two of showers and storms. There is a chance for this to produce another shot at some strong storms and heavy rains.

– The long range pattern into May looks like more of the same in terms of an active severe weather spring. The month is likely to see a nice back and forth temp pattern with temps averaging normal to a bit below normal as a whole.

Thanks for all the hard work you guys have put into giving us severe weather updates. It is greatly appreciated and I hope I have returned the favor in giving you guys all the information you needed during this run of severe weather.

I will update as needed. Have a great Thursday and take care.
