Good Saturday everyone. Wow. What a start to the month of June. This is supposed to be the start of summertime, but temps have been feeling more like the start of fall. Regular readers of the blog have known this was coming for a while now. This cool pattern looks to continue through the weekend and into next week as the pattern becomes  a little more active.

Today’s weather features a mix of sun and clouds as a weak system works in from the northwest. This will likely touch off some scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Winds will be rather gusty and any thunderstorm may cause those winds to gust a little higher. Highs will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for many areas. Here’s the Kentucky radar to keep you company…

Sunday looks much better with temps in the mid and high 70s under mostly sunny skies. That nice weather won’t last very long as a clipper like system dives in here later Monday into Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms should crank up during this time and the GFS shows this very well…

That looks an awful like something you would see in the wintertime instead of June. Did I just mention winter for the second day in a row? Dang it… my 12 step recovery is now derailed. 🙂

Guess what follows that system? Yep… more cool temps. The GFS Ensembles have that below normal look…

Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
