Good afternoon gang. What a wet ride it has been for much of the state today. Heavy rains caused widespread flooding problems for many and my internet goes down… not a good thing for me getting out updates. Regardless… the heavy rains are slowly winding down across eastern Kentucky this afternoon.
This map gives you a sense of just how much rain has fallen through noon…
Rain amounts of 2″-4″ have been common with local 5″ amounts showing up. Many roads are still closed because of high water. This rain will also cause significant rises on area rivers and should send many of them into flood again.
As we said… the rain will be working out of here this afternoon and you can follow it out of town here…
I will have more updates as needed. Take care.

Right fork of Beaver Creek beginning to slowly rise here in Floyd co. By the looks of the radar we may end up with some minor flooding by dark.

Many roads in Shelby County were closed this morning. Guist Creek Lake in Shelbyville rose 7 feet overnight. According to the Sentinel-News Shelbyville received more than 5 inches of rain.
alot of roads were water covered this morning in our area, Rt 5, Deidrick Blvd, several places in Ashland. It has come down in most places. My parents live on RT 5 and the water was way up in the field, didn’t get to the house but the water was way out of its banks. Stay safe everyone!!!!!!!!!
