Good Saturday everyone and welcome to the weekend. The past week has been a wild one with two rounds of slushy snow and flooding rains meaning mother nature owes us a nice day. Today looks to be just such a day. ![]()
Skies will be mainly sunny today with gusty winds warming our temps up quite well. Many areas will hit the 60 degree mark before all is said and done. This will be the nicest day of the next several as we watch a system working in later Sunday and Monday. This will work across the southern Ohio Valley into the Tennessee Valley leading to some showers… especially across our southern counties.
Temps will come down several degrees on Sunday with Monday looking to be on the chilly side. The chilly air won’t last long as we will likely see a major warm up for the middle and end of next week that may see temps heading toward 70 for a day or two. The GFS Ensembles Temp Anomaly map for next Thursday shows just how widespread the warm air will be…
As someone wanting a big blast of spring… that is a sight for sore eyes. While I would love to say that is the start of “true” spring… I can’t. The last few weeks of the month will see some blocking returning up north and this will try to give us an ugly pattern into early April. The NAO is forecast to tank…
That is never a good sign for those of us hoping for true spring weather. That doesn’t mean we aren’t going to see some mild weather for the end of the month and early April… it just means we will likely see a pattern that can produce some more big rains and occasionally chilly temps with another brush with some flakes a possibility.
Let’s not worry too much about all that and let’s just concentrate on the sensational weather out there today. You are excused from a day of blogging to go outside and play. ![]()
Have a great Saturday and take care.

Thanks Chris! Please no more snow!! Our daffodils will be so upset!! I will be too!!
The flood waters on the Ohio caused the Waterfront restaurant in Covington to break away from shore and float away about 15 feet. Everybody was able to be evacuated safely, however.

Thanks Chris for all you do. Still wish you were back in central Ky.Anyway Thanks again.
Thanks Chris. You get out and enjoy the day too.
Please, all I ask of you NAO, is that if you go negative, lets get a snowstorm. Other than that, please, please, please go positive. I am ready for severe storms and warm temps. Thank you for considering my letter.
Those of you that followed Joe Bastardi at accuweather. He is now at http://www.weatherbell.com with Dr. Joe D’Alero
lol I heard about that I drive by there a few times a week near mainstrasse. I don’t get what everyone likes about mainstrasse to me personally its just a giant drunk alley. i can’t wait to move out of covington, i am actually moving to dayton in august for school, so i guess i will be a buckeye blogger haha!
thanks so much, blizzard time for that link, i used to subscribe to accuweather pro but i cancelled my subscription but i had wondered where ole joe had went to. i knew he would pop up somewhere because he has too much weather knowledge just like our own chris bailey.
i figured that he might have a no compete clause in his contract with accuweather so that might keep him from going to another company for a period of 30 ays or so.
any way thank you so much for the link. you guys are awesome, all you regular bloggers on this site.
oh those typos. sorry, i meant blizzardtim.
