Good Saturday to one and all. I think many of us are going through snow tracking withdrawal as our weather pattern that dominated the winter takes a major break. Warmer weather is ahead for the next week… but just how warm? There are some question marks about that heading into the middle and end of next week.

Our weekend weather will feature half and half conditions. Today will see some clouds rolling across our sky as a front dives in from the northwest. Winds will gust up as temps warm into the upper 30s to low 40s. There isn’t much in the way of moisture with the front with only a flurry possible in the north and east.

Whatever is out there will also be here…

Winds will turn westerly for Sunday as much milder air surges in. Readings will rise into the 50s with partly to mostly sunny skies. This will basically be a March day and will be the best day of the weekend to get out and enjoy.

Valentine’s Day will see another weak front settle in from the north. This may produce a stray rain or snow shower… but will also be moisture starved. Winds will be gusty as temps come down a few degrees from Sunday’s highs.

The March weather will continue into next week as the pattern across the country grows very mild. The areas in the plains states that were experiencing all time record lows the past few days will see 70s for the upcoming week. Our pattern will grow mild as well with temps warming toward 60. I do have a few concerns for the middle and end of the week temps as some clouds and the chance for a shower or two may keep readings down some.

As a matter of fact… the European Model builds a nice ridge in across the southeastern states, but keeps a weakness in the atmosphere right on top of us. This shows a cooler and showery look with thre real warmth to our west…

We will see how that plays out…but the overall pattern for the middle and end of next week is a warm one for much of the country. Take a look into Canada on that map and check out the major cold air that is still around. That cold air likely has a few more southward charges at us before all is said and done. Given the amount of cold and the seasonal attempt for warmer air across the southern states… the weather is likely to grow more active once again for the end of February into March with several rain and some snow threats around here.

That pattern can really crank up some more huge storms across the country.

Have a great Saturday and take care.
