Good Monday, everyone. It’s the 4th straight day with snow flying for many of us across the Commonwealth as snow showers and squalls work through. This action is putting down light accumulations and causing slick travel early today. Today isn’t the end of it as another light snow maker rolls through here on Tuesday.

A few roads are a little slick this morning, so keep that in mind if you have to be out driving. The snow showers and squalls will decrease as the day wears on. Here are your radars to follow along…

The next system zips in here very quickly late tonight into Tuesday. This doesn’t have much moisture with it, but has a band of light snow across the northern half of the state and a bit of a mix in the south. That’s followed by a few snow showers and flurries into Wednesday…

The extended range continues to be a massive fight with conflicting teleconnections. So far, this fight has resulted in above normal snowfall on the winter across central and eastern Kentucky, but below normal across the west. I guess we can call that a push.

It’s obvious the brutally cold look from many of the models will not be working out this week. Still, we will see pressing cold keeping a storm track just to the south of us at the end of the week. The control run of the EURO Ensembles does have a lot of cold coming for the last week and change of the month…

Looking at the Extended GFS Ensembles through February 20th, we find what looks like a very active storm track with above normal precipitation around here…

The Control Run is even more extreme…

This active storm track in our region is actually a hallmark of a La Nina winter. Can we get a few of those to turn into big snow makers around here? We shall see, but those models think so…

I will have your normal updates later today. Have a good one and take care.
