Good Wednesday, everyone. Today is another absolutely gorgeous weather day across the region as our temps warm compared to the past few days. This is a rather boring pattern and that’s perfect after the month of February we are coming out of.
I thought I would use the bulk of this post as a little look ahead into where we go from the weekend into next week.
Before that, we kick things off with today. Highs are generally from the upper 50s to low 60s as a southwest wind kicks in. This is actually ahead of a weak cold front dropping in here early Thursday. This knocks the numbers down compared to today, but we keep the dry weather.
The weekend will also be very nice, but below normal for temps as a deep trough shows up across the east. The coldest air is to our northeast…
That mild air across the plains then pushes in here early next week…
From there, a series of bowling ball lows look to roll west to east across the country. The first arriving before next week is over…
That could bring some stormy times to the region and the wind gust forecasts from the models suggest this potential…

Have a great day and take care.

Amen brother!
The average temperature for the month of February at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport was 20.2 degrees, which was 7.5 degrees below normal, but was not among the ten coldest Februarys ever. The monthly snowfall totaled 21.6 inches, which is 12.5 inches above normal, and was the ninth snowiest February on record.
For meteorological winter (December, January, and February), the average temperature was 27.4 degrees, which is 1.0 degree above normal. The snowfall totaled 46.3 inches, which is 18.2 inches above normal.

The snow depth here is now down to officially zero, but there is still snow on the ground in the shady areas, and also the many piles from shoveling and plowing. It looks like that could be all gone by next week, with temps predicted to be at least 60 degrees here by next Monday.
Mike, I’ve experience Winter weather like what you had, but not here in Kentucky.
Still hanging on that hope for a March Snowstorm.
Liking the current weather pattern with Sunshine, mild temperatures and cold mornings.
I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE SUNSHINE!!! Yes, I’m screaming it lol
Bring on the mild, the wild, and the longer days… This guy has been sidelined for far too long.
