Good Sunday, everyone. We have a surge of spring on the way for the week ahead, but this isn’t a full-blown start to the spring season. The setup for the middle of the month is likely to feature much colder air and even the potential for a little more winter weather. #TeamSpring ain’t happy about that.
Temps out there today warm into the 50s with a mostly sunny sky and may reach 60 in the west.
60 degree temps then take over across the entire state on Monday as we continue with a mix of sun and clouds. This officially kicks off our Spring Fever ALERT as even milder air comes in behind this for the rest of the week. Daytime highs will flirt with 70 on multiple occasions and we are likely to hear spring peepers for the first time. 🐸
A late week cold front will drop in from the northwest and bring an increased threat for showers and thunderstorms. The timing of this front remains in question and could actually arrive a little later into next weekend.
The setup after that features winter trying to get back in here, but we may have a fight on our hands. If that’s the case, we could get back into an above normal pattern. The Ensembles are hinting at this with the 2 week rainfall anomalies. Keep in mind how dry the first week is, so most of the rain comes during the second week…

Tomorrow, I will take a little look into the summer ahead. Have a great Sunday and take care.
In my area frogs have been noisey for over a week daffodils already flowering and trees budding
Thanks Chris, Absolutely the most beautiful stretch of early Spring weather. I wish we could hold on to this weather pattern through the Summer, but we all know that is not going to happen.
Red Maples are beginning to bloom, so that means it’s allergy time for me and a lot others out there, but the beauty of plants coming back to life overachieves the allergy.
Hoping everyone that has been affected by the power outages due to the Ice storms earlier and then the flooding are beginning to get their lives back to normal.
we have been hearing the peepers here since the ice storm melting
I had posted about that and the trees but the comment isn’t there anymore
