Good Sunday to one and all. Showers and thunderstorms are returning to the area today, kicking off a very soggy pattern for the upcoming week and change. Rounds of showers and storms will feed on tropical moisture to produce heavy rainfall across much of the region.
The plume of tropical moisture arrives today with clusters of showers and storms blowing up. This action is coming in streaks from south to north and may put down some local 1″ rain amounts through tonight.
Here are your radars to keep you company today…
These rounds of showers and storms become more common and more widespread on Monday and should continue through the rest of the week. You can see how the storms really ramp up each afternoon and evening on this EURO Model loop from Monday through Thursday…
These storms will be big time rain makers and this is likely to result in, at least, local flash flood issues developing at times.
By the end of the week into the weekend, we turn our attention toward storms that may be diving in from the northwest. The EURO is actually bringing what looks like a summertime version of a clipper in here…
The EURO is spitting out some hefty rain totals from today through next Sunday…
As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out what I have to say. It’s hard to believe KWC is about to go into year 14 and that’s coming after 4 years of the WKYT blog that started it all. You guys have been like family to me and I appreciate each and everyone of you. It’s certainly been one heck of a ride.
Make it a great Sunday and take care.
Thanks Chris for being so dedicated.
I read your blog everyday.
You are my go to guy for weather and I don’t even live in your reporting area.
I hope the Northwest front makes it down here next weekend. It might give us a period of relief from the Tropical heat.
Thanks for all the info, computer models, and maps you place on the blog every day CB!
I have learned from reading your weather blog everyday Chris and I thank you for being such a great teacher of meteorology.
I also enjoy reading and discussing current weather events for all though’s who choose to comment.
Here’s to 14 more years of KWC !
Thank you for all of your diligent hard work and for educating us, Chris! This blog is a go to for me!
I don’t reply all that often, but this site is how I start each day. It’s also my go to for the weather radar. I appreciate all you do Chris and I too think of you all as my extended family.
Thanks Chris for all you do. This site is my to go as well and I live far part in western, ky by the mighty Ohio River. Have a great day to all!!
I have enjoyed and learned from your daily reports for many years! Thank you!
Gosh. The WKYT blog. I remember that’s when I started reading and commenting…….then you moved to WV but kept the blog going, then moved back, now a new blog. I can only think of a handful of times that I didn’t check the blog on any given day………Must have been when we were in a really boring weather pattern.
