Good Wednesday to one and all. Our busy and stormy pattern is FINALLY arriving in the bluegrass state as we slam the door closed on June. This is along and ahead of our upper level low that promises a much cooler than normal start to July, including very pleasant temps for our Independence Day.

Tropical humidity is in place across the region today, leading to a scattering of showers and storms. The storms will increase later in the day and may form a line/broken line that drops in from the northwest. This brings a low-end risk for severe storms to the region and the Storm Prediction Center is highlighting this potential…

Damaging wind is the main player.

Additional rounds of showers and storms will then target the region from Wednesday night through Friday morning. Here are the respective rainfall totals during this time…

Heavy rainfall may cause local flash flooding issues to develop.

This is ahead of our upper low that continues to look to scoot just east of us into Saturday and the 4th on Sunday. This brings dry weather in here as Friday wears on and that continues into the big weekend. Highs Thursday and Friday are in the 70s and likely stay there for Saturday. Lows drop deep into the 50s by Saturday morning…

The 4th of July Sunday looks really good with 50s to start and highs ranging from the upper 70s to middle 80s. Enjoy it!

The setup next week will turn warmer with more storms entering the picture. We may also see something trying to pop in the tropics.

I leave you with your daily dose of tracking tools…
