Good Saturday to one and all. Our Labor Day weekend is off and running with rain rolling into the region later today into Sunday. This setup can put down some pretty good totals as we continue to see a much cooler than normal pattern.
Clouds are increasing out there today with temps mainly in the 70s where the clouds are thickest. The numbers may briefly spike into the low 80s for areas getting in on some sunshine.
A cold front drops in from the northwest and slows down tonight and early Sunday. Showers increase from west to east today, with the greatest chance in the north and west. Here are your radars for the day…
Showers and storms will then increase tonight and we are likely to see a swath of hefty totals showing up. The models are struggling with the exact placement of this…

Rain will taper off as we go through the day on Sunday, but the lingering clouds and showers keep temps way down in central and eastern Kentucky.
Labor Day itself looks good with 50s to start and afternoon temps in the upper 70s to low 80s. Humidity levels stay low with a mostly sunny sky showing up for all those cookouts. Enjoy!
Another cold front then drops in here late Tuesday and Wednesday and should fire up some showers and storms as it sweeps through here. At the same time, a tropical system may form in the Gulf. This is something the NHC is monitoring…

Right now, the models do not show this front picking up this system, but they’re close…

The cool temps come behind that as a deep trough digs in. You can see how much deeper that trough is than the one coming in this weekend…
After that lifts out, there are mixed signals for the middle of the month as one more shot of toasty temps make a run at us. Will another trough cut it off at the pass? We shall see.
Make it a great day and take care.

Thanks Chris, Really looking like Autumn with the troughs. Next week really looks nice with very little chances of rain in my local weather forecast. Please no more rain this weekend except for those that need the rain.
Hoping we do not have another tropical storm in the Gulf. I will be watching that closely through next week.
