Good Sunday to one and all. It’s another winner of a weather day across Kentucky as we continue to rack up those W’s. As we enter a new week, we do see a more active pattern developing across the region and for much of the eastern half of the country.

Temps out there today are warmer with most areas in the low and middle 80s. Those numbers look common for Monday and Tuesday as a few more clouds get into the mix. This will be ahead of a pattern that features a cold front moving our way and a Gulf of Mexico system.

This system and the southeast coast threat are being watched by the NHC…

That’s one busy looking map!

The satellite shot shows the Gulf system getting better organized…

That system heads toward Texas and Louisiana and will likely become a named storm. It’s at this point we are likely to get a cold front to move in here with showers and storms. There continues to be the threat of another system developing off the southeast coast to make this setup even more whacky.

As you can imagine, the models handle it all differently…

As I mentioned in my last post, what happens with the tropics will be the main determining factor in how the rest of September plays out around here. The control run of the EURO Ensembles continues to advertise some deepening troughs…

Enjoy the day and take care.
