Good Saturday to one and all. It’s another day with scattered showers and storms blowing up across the region, but the best chance of storms is on the way in the coming days. This stormy setup will unleash a true blast of October air for the second half of the upcoming week.

Some tropical moisture continues to push into the state today and this is touching off a few showers and storms. This action should be more widespread across the west and south and we will have to be on guard for heavy rains that can cause local high water issues. Here are your radars for the day…

A similar setup will be noted for Sunday, but the showers and storms begin to increase Sunday night into Monday as the tropical moisture increases. We are likely to see a south to north swath of heavy rain setting up, especially in central and western Kentucky. From there, a strong fall cold front sweeps in with more showers and storms Tuesday into Wednesday.

The GFS is fastest with the front…

The Canadian Model is much slower with this system…

With the slower movement, the Canadian shows higher rain numbers…

The air behind this is straight outta October with highs in the 60s and lows deep into the 40s…

Another trough will try to dig in behind this next weekend or early in the following week, keeping cooler than normal temps.

Before we wrap this up, let’s take a little trip to the tropics… Figuratively of course. 😎 The National Hurricane Center continues to watch the Odette off the east coast and one rolling toward the Caribbean…

We will see what, if any, impact that second system has on the United States in the coming days.

Have a sensational Saturday and take care.
