Good afternoon, everyone. Big changes are on the way for the week ahead as rounds of heavy rain and storms introduce a very chilly pattern. That blast of chilly air will make it feel more like late October than late September.

Let’s begin with what’s happening out there today. Rain and a few storms continue to push across western and southern Kentucky. Locally heavy rains are a good bet in these areas. Farther north, the action is much more scattered, but will increase later this evening through tonight. Here are your radars to track whatever is showing up near you…

The models continue to bring out front through here late Tuesday into Wednesday with low pressure developing along it. This enhances rainfall and gives us the potential for too much rain in some areas.

The NAM only goes through early Monday evening, but you can see how it really slows the system down…

The rainfall forecast from this model run is likely on the high side, but shows the potential…

The Canadian has a similar thought process…

The EURO has the same idea…

The GFS is better than it was, but it’s still very progressive with the system…

Temps are straight out of October and that’s why we have a full blown…

Temps on Wednesday afternoon may stay in the 50s for many areas as the low works through here. Highs after this are in the 60s with lows deep into the 40s…

SATURDAY MORNING

Brrrrrr!!!

Another big upper level low will then drop in here behind this next weekend or early in the following week. That should bring another big blast of chilly air into the region and has a shot to deliver a kiss of 🥶.

I’ll see you guys for the main update later tonight. Have a good rest of the day and take care.
