Good Saturday, everyone. It’s a chilly, but nice day across Kentucky and you probably want to get out and take advantage of it. That’s because rain rolls in here for Sunday and brings the coldest air of the season into the start of Thanksgiving week. The holiday week may end with a storm system rolling into the region.
Temps are in the 20s to start the day and will wind up in the 50-55 degree range this afternoon. Clouds increase and there’s the chance for a shower or two to show up across the west late this afternoon into the evening. Here are your radars to track the increase…
The rain will then rapidly increase from west to east tonight and that sets up a soggy Sunday across the region. Rainfall amounts of a half to one inch may show up for many. Most models are also spitting out a few 1″+ areas. Check out the rainfall numbers…

The cold coming in behind this is a little slower arriving Sunday night so those Monday lows won’t be quite as cold, but Monday itself is the coldest day since last winter with highs in the 30s and wind chills from the upper teens to low 20s at times.
After a seasonably cold Tuesday, we start to focus on the setup for the long Thanksgiving weekend. The models have been giving us some wild swings in recent days, but a couple of the models are, at least, looking similar to one another.
The Canadian has a simple cold front moving through here with rain for Thanksgiving and colder weather for Black Friday…
The EURO has the same thought process…
The GFS continues to be like a golf ball coming off my driver… Lost in the woods. The amount of variability coming from this model over the past few days is staggering…
I ride the GFS so much because it’s the American Model and it has some serious issues. That and the fact this is usually the model that populates your weather app forecasts. That’s right, there’s no human input into your weather crap… I mean… app forecast. 💩😷😜 (Yes some of mine could be called the same)
I’ll hook you up with another update or two late today. Have a good one and take care.
My own model *history* predicts that it will be a cold rain.
song of the day, i feel a cold one coming on by montgomery gentry!!!!
