Good evening, folks. I wanted to drop by for a very quick update on a quick-hitting band of light snow set to impact the region Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. This is a quickie update, so let’s get after it.

This isn’t a big deal outside the fact it’s the first chance for some areas to see some very light sticking snows. This has the look of coatings on grassy and elevated surfaces and not everyone even sees flakes let alone light accumulations.

Here’s the area I’m highlighting for the best chance at seeing some VERY  light accumulations…

Areas who do get some light accumulations out of this may see a few slick spots developing in time for the Wednesday morning commute.

I will update that tonight and put out a First Call For Snowfall map if it seems worthy.

I also want to comment on the weekend pattern. The stage is set for some wild weather:

  • Record highs are possible Saturday
  • Rounds of rain and thunderstorms roll through
  • A few storms may be strong or severe
  • Gusty winds will be likely with or without severe storms
  • Heavy rain may cause flooding and flash flooding issues
  • Cold air crashes in and all this may end as a period of wet snow Sunday.

The rainfall numbers from the GFS are very concerning…

Buckle up… This is going to be a wild next several days of weather.

Enjoy the evening and I’ll see you back here with the full update later tonight. Take care.
