Good evening, folks. It’s a quiet setup for the next few days, but things turn very active again later in the week into next weekend. That’s when another wet and stormy setup shows up before our pattern turns back toward colder into Christmas week.
Temps in the coming days make a run into the 60s by Tuesday and Wednesday. A shower or two will be possible Wednesday as moisture streams back into the region ahead of a potent midwestern storm system. That system may crank severe weather well to our northwest before it drops in here on Thursday. That can bring a few strong storms with it.
Once through here, the front slows down to our south as another storm system rides along it, bringing it back to the north by Saturday. That front then sags back to the south before another low develops along it by Monday.
Here’s how the new GFS is seeing all this…
I have no problems with how it portrays the first two systems, but I think the third system is still to be determined as we see just how much of a cold push comes in behind that front. The same model is showing the temp battle I’m talking about, but you can see how the colder than normal temps are making a push…
As is, the GFS is spitting out way too much rain from Thursday through Monday…
The colder temps need to win this battle fairly quickly or else, as I said earlier, nothing good will come from this pattern.
Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care.
The only bright spot is that it is the GFS.
