Good evening, folks. It’s a MUCH better weather day across the Commonwealth and that’s exactly what the weather doctor ordered. The pattern remains much calmer, but we are watching for additional weak systems dropping in from the northwest in the week ahead.
One of these will try to amplify into something bigger, but there’s nothing standing out at the moment.
Before we get to that, check out the power of a snow and ice pack…

That’s a crazy map and kicks off “Weather Tweets I Got”…
@Kentuckyweather the ice is melting so fast it felt like it was raining when I was walking my dog. I had to put my hood up! ☀️ pic.twitter.com/oUPtOqtWGp

We have a light system moving in for Monday and this can spit out a few flakes for some.
The next system carves out a little deeper trough in the jet stream late Wednesday and Thursday…
This could spit out some light snow and flurries from time to time as well…
That sets the stage for an even deeper trough for Super Bowl weekend…
While that’s an impressive trough, nothing is really showing up at the surface expect for some light stuff…
Another trough then tries to show up a few days later…
Again, this type of a setup can result in a bigger system cranking up. Of course, that doesn’t mean it will and #TeamSpring wants no part of it. 🌸😎
Enjoy the rest of your Dey and take care.
We got about 2 inches snow on top of the ice we had and were still about 8 inches below average. But I’m ready for spring as much I like snow.
Yes finally some calm…I’m so glad we didn’t have a full blown ice storm
An ice storm sure makes for some picturesque views! Great photos taken!
