A Little Light Snow For Super Bowl Weekend

Good Friday to one and all. We’ve made it to the end of the week and we are just about ready to kick off Super Bowl Weekend. While things are mild to start, a change toward cold is moving in for Saturday and Sunday and will also bring a few light snow chances in here.

Let’s begin with today and roll forward. Temps today reach the middle 50s in the north and 60-65 in the south and west. Winds will be a big player as gusts make a run toward 40mph or a little greater at times.

A cold front works in from the northwest this evening and will bring a gusty band of showers with it. Here are your radars to follow along…

Much colder air sweeps in behind this front with readings hitting the 20s for many by Saturday morning. With a northwest wind, a few flurries and snow showers will show up across central and eastern Kentucky.

That little wave of low pressure may also show up to our southeast and that can bring a stripe of light snow across the southeastern corner of Kentucky late Saturday…

From there, we focus our attention on a weak clipper dropping in with a band of light snow late Super Bowl Sunday…

An inch or less of snow may show up with that and this may be just enough to cause some slick roads. Maybe we can get a few delays and cancellations Monday morning? That’s certainly a possibility as temps reach the upper teens.

After a frigid start to the week, temps rebound quickly and may surge toward 60 or a little better by Wednesday and Thursday. That’s with a strong southwest flow ahead of a powerhouse of a storm system developing to our west and rolling toward the Great Lakes by Thursday…

That type a track will bring the potential for heavy rain and strong storms in here. Winds will also be a big player and that’s with or without strong thunderstorms. The GFS continues to show some big time gusts…

March is coming early this year, folks.

Enjoy your Dey and take care.

Thanks Chris, a week ago we had Ice and one inch of Snow on the ground. Now the pattern has really flipped as the Ice and Snow is well North, like it was in December of last year.

Next week looks like we may have a taste of Spring Weather in mid week followed by Colder Weather towards the weekend. This is fairly typical for this time of the year.

Still holding my prediction that the Cincinnati Bengals will WIN the Super Bowl 2022.
