Good evening, folks. It’s been a super-stormy Sunday across the state and these storms are putting down a lot of water. Unfortunately, we have more storms on the way and some of these may be severe through Monday. Beyond that, it’s a winter look taking shape later in the week.

Today’s storms are generally moving from southwest to northeast over some of the same areas. We’ve picked up 1″-2″+ rains on a line from Mayfield to Morehead and this will be the area to watch for possible flooding and flash flooding this evening. That area expands a bit later tonight into Monday.

The threat for severe storms is also with us through Monday. Here’s the current Severe Weather Outlook for the evening…

The focus pushes farther east into Monday…

Damaging winds, large hail and a tornado or two will be possible.

Much colder air then pushes in here behind that system behind that for Tuesday as another system brings some chilly showers to the east and southeast on Wednesday. That sets the stage for a much bigger storm system Friday and Saturday.

This comes from the major trough you’ve been reading about on here for a week or so now. Troughs like this usually spawn a big storm system and the models are now going toward that solution. It’s a solution that would bring rain to snow around here. Of course, it’s all about the track and intensity of the low.
