Good Sunday to one and all. It’s a much better weather day taking shape across the region, and it only gets better from here. We have a full blown taste of summer temps on the way for the upcoming week.

Temps out there today reach the upper 60s in the east and middle 70s in the west. Skies are partly to mostly sunny.

From there, temps surge into the upper 70s to low 80s for Monday and then we have the numbers that really take on that summer feel. The eastern half of the state will generally top out in the 80-85 degree range with highs in the west approaching 90…

All of this comes from a big ridge of high pressure sandwiched in between a big upper low off the southeast coast and a deep trough in the west. That keeps us dry to next weekend when those two systems try meet in the middle…
