Good Friday, folks. Here’s hoping you’ve enjoyed this awesome week of weather because we do have a few changes working in. That means the chance for scattered storms over the weekend and a much more active setup into next week.
That big system off the east coast is finally working back toward the west. This will bring a shower or storm across the east and southeast and our radars will follow whatever is out thereā¦
Most of the state is dry with temps 80-85.
A better threat for some storms will be with us Saturday into Sunday, but this continues to look scattered. The models are spitting out some hot spots of downpours, but this isn’t a widespread event…

Again, you get lots of dry times out there for the next few days. Outside of any storm, temps will be upper 70s to low 80s for many.
A cold front then drops in here Sunday night with a line of showers and storms that takes us into Monday morning…
Cooler and drier air then filters in behind that for later Monday and Tuesday.
Then, the front works back to the north as a warm front with waves of showers and storms developing along it by later Wednesday and Thursday…
Strong to severe storms may show up before next week is over.
If we look ahead toward the May 20-27th setup, we are seeing a warmer trend showing up on the various ensembles. Take a look at the 7 day temp departures from normal…

Have a great start to the weekend and take care.

This is to be expected being this time of the year. The past few days have been tolerable as temperatures go, but the humidity and dew points have made it a little uncomfortable for me. The most comfortable temperatures this past week have been in the Southeastern part of the state along with the humidity and dew points. Western Kentucky has seen very uncomfortable temperatures in the upper 80’s and low 90’s.
Hoping we get some rain showers soon as it is getting very dry. I had to water my plants yesterday and there is very little chance of any rainfall in my local forecast. Local Farmers are planting corn now and when they are finished they will need rain. We do not need a crop failure in addition to what is going on now in our Great Country !
Latest on La Nina, it is expected to continue through the Summer, Autumn and early Winter before there is a change or weakening in the trade winds in the Tropical Pacific ?
