Good Saturday to one and all. We have a different pattern this weekend with the threat for a few strong to severe storms going up. This takes us into a pattern that looks much more active as we head into the middle and end of next week.

Let’s kick things off with what’s going on out there today. A scattering of showers and storms will go up this afternoon and evening and a few of the storms may be strong or severe. The Storm Prediction Center has much of the area in a low-end severe risk…

This isn’t widespread, but storms have the chance to briefly reach severe limits with hail and high winds. Temps outside of the storms generally range from the upper 70s to low 80s.

There’s a stray storm risk on Sunday, but much of the daytime hours will be drive. At the same time, a cold front drops into the Ohio Valley Sunday evening with a line of strong to severe storms going up along it. That has the chance to drop in here Sunday night and very early Monday.

Here’s the Sunday severe weather outlook from the Storm Prediction Center…

Cooler and drier winds will then blow later Monday into Tuesday. That leads to some pretty good weather before things turn stormy again for the rest of the week into next weekend. Here are the 5 day rain totals ending next Sunday…
