Good Sunday, folks. It’s another winner of a weather day across the commonwealth but things are about to change. We have a stormy setup rolling into town for the week ahead as our temps once again skew cooler than normal. As a matter of fact, it may get very cool by next weekend.
The cool weather of the past few days has been every bit as awesome as advertised. Saturday morning lows were way down there…
This morning's lows were about as cool as you're ever going to get for June with lots of thermometers deep into the 40s. Check out the Top 10 coolest readings from the Kentucky Mesonet. #kywx pic.twitter.com/fcD2A6yHjA

Temps this morning won’t be as cool but will be in the 50s for the third morning in a row. A mix of sun and clouds will be noted today with temps in the 80-85 degree range for many. There’s a small chance for a shower or storm to go up across the south or southeast. Don’t hold your breath on that one.
Monday is another seasonably warm day with increasing clouds and a few late day showers and storms. This will kick off a rather stormy pattern where rounds of showers and storms roll through here. Heavy rainfall is a good bet with the southern half of the state seeing the best chance for too much rain…

Highs after Monday will be held below normal with most days in the 70s for the week ahead.
A winter looking system then drops in here by the weekend. Wait… What? A system drops in from northwest to southeast and digs into the region with rain, thunder and even cooler temps. Here are the 7 day temp departures from the GFS for June 6-16…
Have a sensational Sunday and take care.
Yesterday morning, we had a low temperature of 48 degrees and this morning’s low temperature was 52 degrees, but the weather was perfect as far as low dew points and very low humidity during the day Saturday.
In the forecast, I like the low risk of Severe Weather, but the return to a more ” Winter Like Pattern” will upset a lot of folks who want the Hot, Humid and Hazy Summer Weather we are use to having here in the Ohio Valley. We, the Farmers need more rain and warmer temperatures if the Corn Crop is going to be “Knee High by the Forth of July. ” Maybe and hopefully the weather pattern will balance out by the end June. It most always does.
The heat & humidity will eventually arrive, although for selfish reasons I hope it never comes to my town.
My Tomatoes are doing great I already have green fruit on the vine. And I heard other anecdotal accounts from other folks that their tomato plants are setting record early development.
I sincerely wish you a great harvest in your garden this Summer. The way it sounds, you may have ripe Tomatoes by the Forth of July !
Glad I mowed my yard today. Hopefully tomorrow I can grill steaks before the rain arrives.
