Good evening, folks. You know we are firmly into wintertime when you guys start getting three a day posts. This cold pattern persists into the week ahead, so I wanted to give you a quick breakdown as to what’s ahead.

Here we go:

  • Monday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with temps hitting 40-45 for many.
  • Clouds quickly thicken late Monday as another storm system moves in here Monday night and Tuesday.
  • This system brings rain and snow to the state, but amounts look fairly light. Temps are back in the 30s for highs.
  • Wraparound light snow and flurries will be with us on Wednesday. Some light accumulations will be possible with temps staying in the 30s, again.
  • Early flurries will end on Thursday with temps in the 30-35 degree range.
  • That really cold air stays with us on Friday with lows possibly reaching the teens with highs similar to Thursday,

The models are very similar in how they handle the Tuesday-Thursday setup…

The future radar from the NAM…

The weekend looks very cold before a bounce back in temps by the middle of Thanksgiving week. That’s when a ridge develops near the region as another trough gets set to dive back in over the holiday weekend.

You can see this well on the EURO Ensembles…

I’ll see you guys later tonight for the full update. Make it a good one and take care.
