Good afternoon, folks. We have another wintry setup on the way for the next few days. This comes as we are locked into a super cold pattern for the middle of November, and it’s one that may carry us into the start of Thanksgiving week.

Temps hit the 40s today in what is the “warmest” day of the week. Clouds will stream in from the southwest as another storm system rolls in here. Some thoughts:

  • Light rain and some light snow pushes in overnight into Tuesday.
  • The best chance for some flakes is across northern Kentucky.
  • I’ve seen similar situations produce a touch of freezing rain at the start, especially in the colder valleys of eastern Kentucky.
  • Once this system passes by, temps drop again as a weak system moves in from the northwest.
  • That produces a few streaks of light snow and snow showers Wednesday into early Thursday. Some light accumulations will be possible.
  • REALLY cold air comes in behind all this for the end of the week into the weekend. There’s a small chance for a clipper type system to impact us during this time.

The new GFS has a little better light snow look on the leading edge of the precipitation shield across the northern half of the state. You can also see the wrap around light snow streaks behind all that…

The Canadian shows the touch of mix and light freezing rain at the start…

Again, tomorrow morning could be sneaky for some local travel issues!

That air for the end of the week into the weekend is absurd for this time of year. Look at the 5 day temp departures from Thursday through Monday…

I will have another update coming this evening, so check back. I leave you with your radars to follow the stuff developing to our southwest…

Enjoy the afternoon and take care.
