Good Wednesday to one and all. We’ve made it to the middle of the week and we have a much colder wind blowing out there today. As our current storm system works to our east, it’s time to focus on the next systems set to blast the region in the coming days.

Morning showers and thunderstorms will quickly race out of eastern Kentucky as much colder air crashes in from the west. Here are your radars to follow the rain out of the stateā¦
Temps this morning will be wild for a time as the front moves into eastern Kentucky. Temps ahead of this will be near 60 while areas behind it drop into the low and middle 30s. We spend much of the day with temps in the upper 30s to low 40s with gusty winds making it feel much colder.
December starts with lows of 20-25 and a wind chill in the teens. By afternoon, sunny skies are with us as temps reach the upper 30s and low 40s.
Another sharp cold front drops in from the northwest Friday night and Saturday. This brings in another round of gusty showers and, perhaps, a few rumbles of thunder…
The setup behind this continues to feature chillier temps, but with the front slowing down, another wave or two of low pressure rides along it into early next week. This happens as we find ourselves smack dab in the middle of a southeast ridge and a trough diving in from the northwest.
The GFS has been adamant about the potential for a lot of rain from this setup, but the latest run appears to be going into progressive mode…
The Canadian sees many more waves of low pressure as the cold finally crashes in through the week…
That’s a seasonably cold blast of air coming in later next week, but it’s the following week I continue to highlight for more of a wintry setup. This continues to show up strongly on the Ensembles…

its time to rise and shine
We finally received that much needed rain through the night. We ended up with 0.87 inches and very little wind gust, but that may happen today with the pas*age of a Pacific cold front.
