Good Tuesday everyone. Halloween is behind us and it’s full steam ahead into the month of November. Things look to get started off on a pleasant note today before we turn our attention toward a fast moving storm for the last half of the week. What about the month as a whole? Your November forecast is on the way.
The weather for Today into Wednesday looks nothing short of pleasant. High temps will range from 60-65 for most of the state with low and mid 60s on the menu for Wednesday. The great temps will come with a side order of mostly sunny.
The weather by Thursday will go downhill very quickly as a bowling ball system rolls from west to east across the Ohio Valley. This will bring an increase in rain and a decrease in temps. Some of the latest models are showing a much colder system . Cue the NAM…
That would mean our temps would fall into the 40s on Thursday as the rain moves in. The good news is it’s a fast mover and be out of here by Friday afternoon.
The weekend will see a nice mild up as our temps rebound toward the 60s again. The next front looks to arrive later Sunday or Monday with a shot of showers and a chill down. This all part of a pattern that sees the first half of November start with much of the cold weather across the western part of the country.
With the jet stream taking a big dip out west… that would put us into a normal to slightly above normal temperature pattern. That doesn’t mean we won’t have a cold shot or two. But, the overall theme would be skewed closer to normal or above.
That setup is also one that can increasingly cause a lot of storminess across the plains states that would work into the Ohio Valley by mid month. That’s when I expect the pattern to flip toward a much colder one around here and for much of the country…
I can’t tell you exactly when this flips… but the analog years I have strongly support the idea of an early start to winter into the end of November. I would not be surprised to see the first widespread accumulating snows before the month is over.
That should take us into a winter that is loaded with big ticket weather events. The atmosphere continues to run in supercharged mode and that shows no signs of letting up.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.

Really, No chatter about November? Looks like better hang those xmas lights early and sit back and hope for an early winter arrival.
I was thinking the same thing ohiospin. Get the decorations up while the weather is warm, then, sit back and wait on the “fun and games.” Also, I’m really surprised there are several comments by now! Thanks Chris for all you do.
hey chris it is me stacy minarch here in georgetown ky hey iam going out of town for thanksgviving is it going to snow?
It was a beneficial workout for me to go through your webpage. It definitely stretches the limits with the mind when you go through very good info and make an effort to interpret it properly.
