Good afternoon, everyone. Skies are slowly clearing up from west to east this afternoon as mild winds blow. These winds are ahead of the next storm system set to bring showers and a few strong storms into the region late Wednesday.

The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal to Slight Risk for severe storms across the western half of the state late Wednesday and Wednesday night…

The Future Radar from the HRRR shows how this line of storms tries to hang together into central Kentucky before losing a little steam in the east. This animation goes from 3pm Wednesday through 7am Thursday…

Winds will be gusty ahead of this system on Wednesday, and once it goes through on Thursday. Temps spike briefly into the low and middle 60s across the central and east Thursday before cold air crashes in from the northwest. This will lead to a few flakes flying early Friday.

The next system working in from the southwest continues to bounce around on the models. The GFS is the farthest northwest with the track of the low and brings heavy rain to some wraparound snow…

The Canadian is much farther south and east with the track and offers more of a winter look around here…

As you can see, we have a lot of moving parts to track in the upcoming days.

I will have an update later today, so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
