Rolling Through A Fine Looking Weekend

Good Saturday to one and all. We’ve made it to the weekend and our weather is feeling pretty darn nice out there. Temps are on the pleasant side as humidity levels come way down, but we do keep the small chance for a storm. Hey, there’s no such thing as perfection! 😎

Temps this morning range from the upper 50s to low 60s for many with some fog. Highs this afternoon are pretty darn awesome with upper 70s to low 80s for most of the region. We will see a mix of sun and clouds with just the slightest chance for a shower or storm to go up.

Here are your radars just in case…

Sunday is another great day with just a small increase in temps. There’s also the chance for a few storms to go up during the afternoon and evening, with the best chance across the north and west.

Temps stay pretty nice for the start of the new week before we do try to toast it up some for the middle and end of the week. That may also come with some showers and storms dropping back in here from the northwest. Sound familiar?

The rounds of storms have dropped a lot of water across the region this summer. Look at how far above normal some are over the past week…

Let’s run that back to see how far above normal we are for the past month…

It’s also the time of year to really start to focus on the tropics. There’s Tropical Storm Don way out there and it will stay way out there. There’s also another system of interest…

Have a sensational Saturday and take care.

I really hope this isn’t another year where the tropics control the weather and everything stays on hold for weeks..

@ Schroeder – I had the SAME? Some comments do not have a “reply” under them

It will be nice to go outside and enjoy the near perfect weather this weekend.
I hate to see that the extreme heat might start to make an appearance later into next week.

Yeah, It seems to be Okay now. First time I’ve seen that on the comment section of the Blog.

I think now that we are going into our usual late Summer weather pattern, but I think that the Summer weather will still be around during our Autumn months. I hope not, as Autumn is our chance for nice pleasant weather like last year.

El Nino will not be fully developed until the Atlantic SST drop significantly. The Tropical action we are starting to see reflects this. Also the Pacific has not been that active in recent days. NOAA is now taking a ” wait and see ” approach on ENSO. Next update on ENSO will be in about three weeks.

I have enjoyed the weather but I did see where the 90s are forecast for next week or this week.I could take cooler then normal summers all the time sorry Jeff lol. Schroeder what’s SST?? I hope we don’t have a late summer in the fall but I bet we will.

        Surface Sea Temperatures.

Activity during the 1st part of hurricane season usually focuses on storms that spawn in the Gulf and the Western Caribbean, before equatorial Atlantic (Cape Verde) storms take precedence. I think Atlantic storms that develop in mid-latitudes will get pushed north by a strong low level flow, and southern storms will run into major shear.
Our best hope for tropical action will be the Gulf.

I prefer 25 or so days in the 90s and just enough rain for farming sake. 🙂

        • Schroeder

I don’t know Jeff, but you may get those high temperatures. We really don’t need that much rain now after pollination time. Just a maintenance level.

Completely agreed on the rain part.

      • Schroeder

Correction Crystal : Sea Surface Temperatures.

I agree Joe, but it all depends on where the High pressure sets up. The Gulf is certainly warm enough for any tropical development.

I’m leaving Sunday morning for a five-day vacation to Las Vegas, where it’s predicted to be 112 degrees on Sunday, and around 109-110 the remaining four days. Fortunately, the hotel where I’m staying has an awesome beach area and big wave pool, which is where I’ll be spending lots of time.

It’s also monsoon season in the Desert SW, where for the next several weeks isolated, pop-up thunderstorms can sometimes occur, with heavy rains that cause flooding in the isolated areas where they do occur.

Go to the Stratosphere for Dinner. I hope you have a good time because I am sure the heat is on out there this time of the year.

        Thanks Crystal!
